Innovative Learning Partnership (ILP) / 1-to-1 iPads

As part of our Innovative Learning Partnership (ILP) across the NOVA Education Trust, every pupil in Key Stage 2 (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6) at ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ will have access to an iPad to support learning in school and at home. This section of the website explains how the programme works and what your responsibilities and expectations are for this partnership including staff, children and parents.

Why ILP?

ILP helps us keep teaching simple and effective: clear instruction, purposeful practice, high-quality feedback and quick checks for understanding. Technology doesn’t replace great teaching; it supports it. We also focus on Workflow: Simple and Safe, so staff and families can do the important things with less time spent on admin.

What your child will receive:

  • An iPad with case and charger
  • Access to learning apps, including Showbie for classwork and feedback
  • Internet safety controls managed by school, with Jamf and Securely for filtering and settings.
  • An Acceptable iPad Use Agreement outlining your child's responsibilities supported by home and school (please see Acceptable iPad Use in the downloads section of this webpage).

Use at school and at home

In school: devices are used for modeling, guided practice and independent tasks. Pupils will still write in books and use practical resources.

At home: pupils may complete set tasks, practice basics and read. Screen time should be sensible and balanced with offline activities. Restrictions will be in place to manage what the children can access and when.

Care, charging and bringing the device

  • Keep the case on at all times and store the iPad in a safe place.
  • Charge overnight so it arrives at school at 100%.
  • Only bring the charger to school if asked.
  • Keep the name label on the case and charger.

Costs and responsibilities

There is no cost to access the device. If a device is lost or intentionally damaged, families may be asked to contribute to repair or replacement costs as set out in the ILP Agreement. Accidental damage will be considered case by case. Please contact school early if there are any issues.

Online safety and privacy

  • Filtering and app access are managed by Nova via Jamf. Settings differ in school and at home.
  • We do not track personal content. We apply safeguards to keep pupils and devices secure.
  • Parents/carers can use the Jamf Parent app to set limits at home if they wish to restrict home use further (please see Parent Manual in the downloads section of this page for further information).

You can find further ILP information 'Helpful information for our parents and children' in the downloads section of this webpage. If you have any further questions please talk to your child's teacher or our ILP Lead and Deputy Head Teacher Mr Edwards via the school office.
