PE
Gross Motor Development
One of the prime areas of the EYFS curriculum is Physical Development. Within this, the children will develop their gross motor skills through discrete taught lessons of PE. Within these lessons we work on many different skills to support children to develop their co-ordination and control of their body.
Some half terms, PE lessons will be lead by the class teacher. Other times, it will be lead by a specialist coach such as a gymnastics or dance coach.
This half term the children will be doing yoga. They will practice a range of movements, positions, stretches and breathing techniques to help strengthen their muscles and calm their bodies.
PE Kit
Please remember to send your child to school in their school PE kit. On the colder days, shorts can be swapped for black leggings or jogging bottoms. We often take our shoes and socks off for PE so please avoid sending your child in tights under their trousers. We would also encourage you to practice taking shoes and socks off and putting them back on at home. It will really help to develop their independence.
