Nursery 2025-2026
Summer 1
Our topic this half term is "Globetrotters". The children will explore the world in which they live, learning the names of other countries and how to say hello in the many languages of our classes. If you would like to come and speak to the children about your experiences and memories of living in another country, or if you have tales to tell from travelling, please let a member of staff know. We would love to hear from you!
Phonics:
Little Wandel This term we will continue Tuning into Sounds which teaches phonological and phonemic awareness through games. The children will be learning sounds n m d g o c .

SPRING 2
Our topic this half term is "Where we live". Children will talk about where they belong, their homes, and the local area. Children will learn about places of significance in the Meadows and will learn about significant community events and celebrations. We will also be learning about the celebrations of Ramadan, Mother’s Day, and Easter this half term.

Spring 1
Welcome back to school in 2026. We hope you enjoyed the long break. We are excited to welcome the children back to school and start the new year.
We will be learning about animals that we find living in the United Kingdom both in the wild and on farms. We will name lots of animals and talk about where they live and what they eat. We will learn how to care for living things, by learning about how to look after a pet. We will look at simple life cycles to understand how animals grow and change. White Post Farm will bring their animal roadshow to school to help with this learning!

Autumn 2
Our topic this half term is CELEBRATIONS. We will be learning about many different celebrations and understanding that everyone is different, with different beliefs, and everyone will celebrate special times in different ways. The children will have the opportunity to talk about their own families and the things they celebrate.

In maths we will learning all about numbers 1 2 and 3 and explore pattern making
Autumn 1
We welcome all children to our Nursery at Victoria Primary school for the new academic year. Hopefully, you have had lots of fun, adventure and also time to rest during your summer holidays!
